10/20/03 crab NWS:: Crewman Erik Snyder empties bait jars and bags of herring back into the sea as the F/V Exito picks up its crab pots. Having never been crab fishing before, Snyder received such names as "Greenhorn", "Baitboy", and "Swabee" (from the movie "Captain Ron"), and was paid a half crewshare. He did most of the jobs on the boat nobody else wanted to do including cleaning the wheelhouse windows and doing the dishes, in addition to being in charge of the bait. When asked how he felt after his first day on the job he replied, "This sucks. I haven't done a damn thing right on this boat since I started."
