Farrier Todd Graham from Chehalis, Wash., adjusts the band over the top of See My Magic, a 13 year old Tennessee Walking Horse, in Roy, Wash. after putting on his horse shoes. Graham, who has been a horseshoer for 20 years, says its like trimming fingernails. He is the only farrier currently in Western Washington who will put show shoes on horses. “There’s not very many of those around anymore,” he says of the performance show riders. He says people got out of it because its expensive to keep these horses and many riders got sick of the regulations. (photo © Karen Ducey / Animal News Northwest)
