Crewman Bob Thelan eats dinner out of a dog bowl while fishing for Bairdi crab in the bering Sea in December 1993. Dog bowls were the preferred dinnerware of choice on board this fishing vessel, the Norseman, because large portions of food can be put in it without it spilling over and it can fall on the floor without breaking in rough seas.
