Appellate commissioner PETER L. SHAW listens to oral arguments in a contempt hearing between the Japanese whalers, - the Institute of Cetacean Research, Kyodo Senpaku Kaisha, Ltd., Tomoyuki Ogawa, Toshiyuki Miura and Hiroyuki Komura against Paul Watson and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Soviety in the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit in Seattle, Washington on November 6, 2013. The civil hearing was underway to examine evidence. Japanese whalers, researchers and other Japanese seafood business leaders claim Watson and the Sea Shepherd ships disrupted their whale hunt in the Southern Ocean during the 2012-2013 whaling season violating an injunction they brought up against him issued by the court last December.
